Wow, October is already coming up. Looking forward to the beautiful fall colors.

We will be meeting on October 20th at Lisa's house (I don't yet know her address, will update with that later). Our books are:

Return From Tomorrow by George Ritchie

Our other book is...

My Name is Mary Sutter by Robin Oliveira

I don't know if anyone has been able to get this from their library but I am the next person on hold for it at the Logan library. As soon as I get it I will read it and pass it out to anyone who would like it. I think most of us will easily get the chance to read it that way.

Happy Fall everyone!

I just miss you!!!!

Hi ladies,

Sorry for stealing room on the blog, but I just wanted to tell you all that I really miss you. I am hosting book club tonight for my group here in Ohio. They are a bunch of really great ladies, and I am totally loving it, but when I hear the words "Book Club", I immediately still think of you all. I really wish I could still chat with you guys every month. Please know that I think about you, and still take a peak at what you are reading, knowing we are all reading the same books makes me feel like we are still together somehow. We are planning on driving out to Utah next summer....maybe I will plan it so that it is around a third Thursday so I can come see you all again.

You are all wonderful and I love and miss you!!!!!

LOVE Susanna

September Meeting

Hello everyone! It was fun to get to know some new people last night and great to see some who have not come in a while. Thanks to Stephanie for hosting, glad you were having a chocolate fit. Delicious! And we hope the water stops!

Next month we are meeting at Bryn's house on September 15th. Here are the books:

Princess of the Midnight Ball by Jessica Day George:

and

Growing Up Bin Laden by Najwa Bin Laden

The wait for this book at the Logan Library is 2 months but there is no wait for the audiobook. So, if anyone has a hard copy book I prefer that and would love to borrow it. And if anyone wants the audiobook I can lend it to you.

Now for the movie, The Help. Let's go see it! Next Friday, the 26th we were planning on going to the Stadium 8 at 9:15. Does that sound ok to everyone? Maybe we can meet in front about 20 minutes before hand. I'll try to remember to send emails out about this next week.

Good luck getting back into a good school routine. See you!

July

Thanks to Becky for hosting last time. It was so nice to see everyone.

Next month we will be meeting on July 21st at Tara's house.

Since the final Harry Potter movie is coming out, we are going to be discussing The Deathly Hallows. So let's have one big final Harry Potter ha-rah.

We discussed quite a few other books and decided to just have everyone pick what they want to read. Here are a few that were mentioned.

Moon over Manifest by Clare Vanderpool

Way of Kings by Brandon Sanderson

Code Talker: A Novel About the Navajo Marines of World War Two by Joseph Bruchac

Cutting for Stone by Abraham Verghese

Be warned, this last one is incredibly graphic.

Have a great month and we will see you all next time!

May Date Change

The 19th wasn't working out very well for some of us so we are changing the date to Monday May 16th. We will still be meeting at Sue's house.

I got the book saving CeeCee Honeycutt and if anyone wants to borrow it, let me know.

See you next week!

May 2011 Meeting

Hello everyone! It was a wonderful evening with you ladies, thanks Natalie for the dark chocolate cake thingies :) Yum.

Books for next month are:

Jane Eyre by Charlotte Bronte

and

Saving CeeCee Honeycutt by Beth Hoffman

I decided to buy this book; I found a cheap used copy online. There are about 25 people on the wait list at the logan library and only 2 copies there. So there is no other way I am going to get to read it before we next meet. It is being shipped to me within the next 2 weeks. If anyone needs it after me, they are more than welcome to borrow it.

We will be meeting at Sue's house next time, on May 19th.

We talked briefly about going to see the movie Jane Eyre, is anyone still wanting to do that? I couldn't figure out if the movie is even playing here in Logan yet. Anyway, let me know, I will post on this blog if we plan on seeing it as a group.

See you, have a great hopefully sunny month!

March 2011

Thanks Rachel for hosting February! It was really fun. Your house always looks so nice.

Next time we are meeting at Brynn's house on March 17th. It is St. Patrick's Day so wear green! Stephanie if you don't make it we will miss you, and good luck on your delivery.

The books next time are:

The Apothecary's Daughter by Julie Klassen

This should be a fun light read.

And since no one was able to get the Francine Rivers book in time for February book club we will redo it for one of our March books.

Happy reading! See you all next month!

February Book Club

Thanks so much to Stephanie for hosting January's meeting. You must have found some house elves because your place looked wonderful. Yummy treats too! Thanks.

Our books for February are:

The Unbroken by Laura Hillenbrand

Natalie's Grandpa is mentioned in this one so it should be fun to read it.

The other book is:

A Voice in the Wind (The Mark of the Lion #1) by Francine Rivers

Be careful, there are 2 books that share this title. This one is set in Rome and is highly rated on goodreads.

We will be at Rachel's house on February 17th. See you there!
